Community Board 2 (CB2) will hold its monthly parks, land use and transportation committee meetings next week, at 6:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.<\/p>\n

All committee meetings of Community Board 2 begin with the approval of the agenda, introduction of the committee officers and an invitation for the public to comment on any matters being considered for a vote. The meetings include the approval of the previous month’s meeting minutes, a chairperson\u2019s report, other business, and a community forum during which the public may speak.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Martin Maher, Brooklyn Borough Commissioner, will speak to the committee regarding parks department application of the city’s gender neutral bathroom laws.

The meeting will begin with the review of three applications to the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) for Certificates of Appropriateness.<\/p>\n

\u00ba\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0163 Dean Street \u2014 Boerum Hill Historic District \u2014 Application is to install new HVAC equipment on new dunnage on the roof.
\n\u00ba\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0111 Hicks Street \u2014 Brooklyn Heights Historic District \u2014 Application is to construct a rooftop addition, enlarge the existing bulkhead and vent stacks, and install railings.
\n\u00ba\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0227 Bergen Street \u2014 Boerum Hill Historic District \u2014 Application is to construct a full-width, rear yard extension at the first (parlor) floor above an existing extension at the basement, replacing the parapet wall on the existing extension with a new railing, installing a stair from the first floor to the yard and installing new fenestration at the rear of the existing extension, and to modify an opening at the second floor rear fa\u00e7ade to create a door to a new terrace with railing on the roof of the new extension.<\/p>\n

The committee will then discuss the “Borough-Based Jail System” ULURP applications scheduled for public hearing on April 11.

The meeting will will begin with public hearings on and discussion about two applications to the Department of Consumer Affairs for new unenclosed sidewalk caf\u00e9s, at 72 Henry Street and 195 DeKalb Avenue.

The committee will also discuss a proposal to move the “Street Seats” previously located in front of the Grace Agard Harewood Neighborhood Senior Center around the corner to 462 Grand Avenue, between Fulton Street and Lefferts Place. Seventy-five percent of the Street Seats in Brooklyn, and almost one-quarter citywide, are located in Community District 2.

The Department of Transportation will present a plan to create “shared streets” on Pearl Street, from Fulton Street to the dead end, and on Willoughby Street, between Lawrence and Pearl streets.
