Community Board 2 (CB2) will hold its monthly parks, land use and transportation committee meetings next week, at 6:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.<\/p>\n

All committee meetings of Community Board 2 begin with the approval of the agenda, introduction of the committee officers and an invitation for the public to comment on any matters being considered for a vote. The meetings include the approval of the previous month’s meeting minutes, a chairperson\u2019s report, other business, and a community forum during which the public may speak.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Elizabeth Masella, senior public art coordinator at the Department of Parks and Recreation, will provide information on “Bunker,” a public art piece that will be displayed at University Place, in front of Long Island University<\/a>, from October 2019-September 2020. Accompanying Ms. Masella will be the artist, Leonard Ursachi.

The committee will review two applications to the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) for Certificates of Appropriateness.<\/p>\n

\u00ba\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0184 Columbia Heights \u2014 Brooklyn Heights Historic District \u2014 Application is to establish a window master plan for the west fa\u00e7ade of the building and to install HVAC equipment.
\n\u00ba\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0302 Lafayette Avenue \u2014 Clinton Hill Historic District \u2014 Application is to legalize the paving of the front areaway and installation of an areaway wall without LPC permits.<\/p>\n

The committee and guests will also receive an update on “Zoning for Coastal Flood Resiliency; Planning for Resilient Neighborhoods,” the ongoing plans to update the zoning rules adopted on an emergency basis following Hurricane Sandy. Catherine Ferrara Iannitto and Katherine Richard, resiliency planners in the Brooklyn office of the Department of City Planning, will present.

The Saint Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral will present a proposal to co-name State Street, between Hoyt and Bond streets, in honor of St. Raphael of Brooklyn, the first Orthodox Christian bishop consecrated in North America.
