Community Board 2 (CB2) will hold two committee meetings next week, as described below. Both meetings are scheduled for 6:00 pm and will be conducted virtually using Webex.<\/p>\n

Standard Meeting Features<\/h2>\n

All committee meetings of Community Board 2 begin with the approval of the agenda, introduction of the committee officers and an invitation for the public to comment on any matters being considered for a vote. The meetings include the approval of the previous month’s meeting minutes, a chairperson\u2019s report, other business, and a community forum during which the public may speak.<\/p>\n

Accomodations<\/h2>\n

All in-person meetings of Community Board 2 are held at locations that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Department of Transportation Petition for Revocable Consent<\/u>

\nFor Recommendation to the Department of Transportation<\/i><\/p>\n

\u00ba\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a069 Greene Avenue \u2014 Petition is to construct in the public right-of-way a stoop from grade to the first floor and a new front areaway with bluestone paving, concrete steps to a cellar entrance, a 34-inch high iron fence with gate and a planting box with storage for garbage. The proposed work has already received LPC approval.<\/p>\n

Transportation and Public Safety<\/b><\/p>\n

The Transportation and Public Safety Committee will receive presentations on June 18, 2020 from the Department of Transportation (DOT) on improvements to an existing bike lane on Smtih\/Jay Street and the proposed installation of two temporary bike lanes; on 4th Avenue, between 1st Street and Flatbush Avenue, and on Navy Street, between Flushing Avenue and Sands Street.<\/p>\n

Transportation Alternatives will also propose changes on the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade to create more space for pedestrians and cyclists. Committee members may also ask DOT about plans to install a mid-block pedestrian crossing on Adams Street, between Tillary and Sands streets, and for a busway on Jay Street, between Fulton and Tillary streets. Any of these topics may result in committee action at the meeting to be held on June 18, 2020.<\/p>\n

Following Ms. Aghera’s presentation, Kamar Samuels, superintendent of Community School District 13 (D13), will provide an update on school operation during the Coronavirus, including plans for summer school, and what is known now about how schools may operate in 2020-2021. Friday, June 26, is the last day of the current school year.
