You can participate in this democratic process by asking questions about the eight projects on the ballot and voting. I encourage all of you to join us, because your vote counts!

This is your opportunity to decide how $1 million of the capital budget should be spent in your community. Help improve your neighborhood by voting on projects addressing schools and housing developments or public safety and city streets!
This is the second year that District 35 has engaged in participatory budgeting. Last year, we received almost 2,000 votes! We are among the thousands of New Yorkers in participating districts that have voted through this process in the past six years to fund specific community projects (submitted by their neighbors) that are designed to improve public spaces within their neighborhoods.

Since September, I have had 60 budget delegates volunteer their time to further develop these ideas into projects. It is time to cross the finish line, but we need your help! Please remember, if you are 14 years old or older, you can vote for up to FIVE projects. You do not need to be a registered voter, just bring proof of address to verify that you live within the district in order to vote. I am excited to see the winning projects.

Familiarize yourself with the 8 final projects for this year’s ballot. Please note online voting will be available beginning March 27 th.

Let’s make this kickoff a big one!

Vote Week Locations:

Council Member Laurie A.
