The City of New York is attempting to rezone parts of Fort Greene in favor of developers which would endanger the current protective zoning laws and our historic districts.
A proposal and ULURP Application by a developer requests that the protected blocks be rezoned as an extension of the Special Downtown Brooklyn District. This would allow taller buildings and increased bulk density changes. We need to fight this.
Please help ensure that the voice of our community is heard by attending the Borough President’s Public Hearing on Tuesday Feb. 20, 2018 at 6pm at the Courtroom at Brooklyn Borough Hall at 209 Joralemon Street, Brooklyn, NY.
- The announcement for the Borough President’s Public Hearing on the Hanson Place ULURP proposal on February 20, 2017, which is an attempt to extend the Downtown Brooklyn Special Business District up Hanson Place, eviscerating a portion of the Fort Greene/Clinton Hill 2007 contextual zoning district by permitting taller building and greater population density.
