 Though we’ll be skipping trick-or-treating this year due to COVID-19, we are so excited to celebrate Halloween with our first ever #MyrtleAve VIRTUAL COSTUME CONTEST!
HERE’S HOW YOUR COSTUME CAN WIN!
The three looks with the most votes will win $200, $100 or $50 in gift cards to spend at Myrtle Avenue businesses of your choice!  Here’s how to win:
1⃣ Post a Photo
Post Picture before 8pm on October 31st and tag @myrtleavebklyn (Instagram) or Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership (Facebook)
2⃣ VOTE 
We’ll post all the submitted pictures on Facebook and Instagram, with voting running from Halloween night at 8:30pm until November 1 at Noon
3⃣ WIN 
The three most voted pictures will win a Halloween Myrtle basket full of goodies and gift cards to your favorite Myrtle Avenue businesses.
Start thinking on you costume, you can participate by yourself or with your family!

Over 600 fall-favorite plants arrived this past week in nearly 60 tree pits along Myrtle Avenue.

Introducing a new Black History #TBT series, written by neighbor & artist Carl Hancock Rux, telling the stories of often overlooked local African-American history.

This week’s segment is literally LIT, featuring inventor Lewis Latimerwhose genius brought us the modern lightbulb and the telephone!

 WEEKLY FOOD PANTRY 

Every Saturday, 60 volunteers are needed to help safely deliver groceries to 1,200 households in Fort Greene. For full details and to sign-up for a shift, please visit our partner Clinton Hill-Fort Greene Mutual Aid.

 PARK AVE CLEAN-UP 

Join the the next cleanup this Saturday, October 17th from 10am-1pm. Meet at N. Portland and Park Ave. Please wear a mask and gloves and bring a broom or shovel, if you have them.

THE FLING
FORT GREENE PARK

Join the Fort Greene Park with friends and neighbors to celebrate the community and help the park this Saturday, 10/17 at 6pm. Tune into the virtual event from your home, the street, the park, and enjoy the live event that includes a DJ, poetry and much more!
