Housing & Rental Resources

|
Low and moderate-income families at risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability can apply to the New York State Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) for relief.
Households approved for ERAP may receive:
- Up to 12 months of rental arrears payments for rents accrued on or after March 13, 2020.
- Up to 3 months of additional rental assistance if the household is expected to spend 30 percent or more of their gross monthly income to pay for rent.
- Up to 12 months of electric or gas utility arrears payments for arrears that have accrued on or after March 13, 2020.

- Rent relief is here! The COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for families and individuals to pay rent. It has also made many choose between paying for rent and other essential needs.
- Attorneys will present on the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), tenants’ rights, housing court updates, and the extended eviction moratorium and its impact on both tenants and landlords.

- To locate NYC COVID-19 Vaccine sites, visit here.
- Brooklyn Children’s Museum is hosting a vaccination site in partnership with the City of New York. The Pfizer vaccine is available at no charge, to ages 12 and up, Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm until June 30th. No appointment is needed. A complimentary family visit to the Museum will be available to those vaccinated at their site.

- The COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer is now available for New Yorkers ages 12 years and older!

COVID-19 PSYCHOLOGICAL IMPACT ADOLESCENT SURVEY
Are you 12-19 years old living in NYC? I’RAISE Girls & Boys International is seeking teens to participate in a survey to determine the impact of COVID-19 on teens’ mental health.

Financial Assistance for Burial Services
Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA will provide financial assistance for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020.
To be eligible for funeral assistance, you must meet these conditions:
- The death must have occurred in the United States, including the U.S. territories, and the District of Columbia.
- The death certificate must indicate the death was attributed to COVID-19.
- The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or a qualified alien who incurred funeral expenses after January 20, 2020.
- There is no requirement for the deceased person to have been a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien.
FEMA is accepting applications. If you had COVID-19 funeral expenses, we encourage you to keep and gather documentation.
